Day 1

09/11 - no mention in AP...should have
did solubility demo of silver nitrate solution vs tap water adding table salt (broke test tube-haha)
started to talk about requirements but missed a few points:
don't fall behind...use maguire's letter...always keep me in the loop...talk about how unique the seniors must be to succeed in this college course (not "like" a college course)

lesson: started with solubility rules as they relate to Coulomb's Law
showed video of dissolving and then did Q and A to elicit ionic bond strength relative to likely solubility
did group I, ammonium, nitrate, acetate (ethanoate),
insoluble: phosphate, carbonate (do sulfide next)

HW: Ch. 4.1 and questions 21-24

D Honors: handed out course reqs and just got through some of them; didn't get to "how to succeed";
E/F: Regents - mostly sophs - good. didn't get to lab safety today...just did intro materials and "how to succeed"
G: just got to handing out reqs; didn't even hand out index cards

tomorrow: all classes must send email...make sure that email isn't blocked...to be put in group
finish how to succeed in Honors and then begin matter and energy and then give quiz
Regents: begin course- matter and energy notes- POST
and give chapter 2 readings....
AP- do one comb. analysis and whatever after finishing sol. rules WITH DRAWING OF BEAKER etc.
