c=c vs o=o

see whether they can use MO theory to figure out the C=C O=O BDE anomaly....

more reminders

teach isomers of square planar vs tetrahedral structures to show how sqpl can form polar isomers but similar tetra compounds cannot!

emphasize local vs. delocal bonding

do lots of IMF "battles" using physical data esp. when you do network solids!

for Tues/Wed. tell them that the lab data from the vapor density lab will be online with our methods and the Dumas method.

do Raoult's Law, osmotic pressure, and colligative property calculations.

recall

for molecular shapes and vsepr (mention that NAME!) , go directly to webpage and show the eternally floating molecules...
then, show the video highlights!
STESS BOND ANGLES AND MENTION THE LETTERS VSEPR!
DO the OXOACID STRUCTURES!!!

12/15: in MO THEORY, do a heteronuclear diatomic like NO vs. NO+ vs. NO-....

from last test, even though you explained the Be and B exceptions, go ahead and emphasize legit octet resonance structures or don't ask for them on the exam!

Honors: revisit coulomb's law for ionic compounds and relate to lattice energy. you just dropped that after they didn't get it right away at the end of class last week.

you didn't get to the H-H energy diagram in G Period on Friday. Do that on Monday.

more

Regents class: when you teach Lewis structures, do the electron counting method ONLY!!! f the coordinate covalent stuff...it only matters in ammonium and hydronium anyway!

Keep stressing Coulomb's Law in its electron-proton and cation to anion form.

forgot un bi tri quad naming with Honors...do it in one minute!!

when covalent bonding is taught (over the next few lessons) REVISIT the energy change diagram as a bond is formed and show the video of H2 bond formation.
