rest of the week

gave the orgo naming exam on Wed...half of B was out...several on e.m. retreat...w.o.t.?
started ap review finally on tuesday ...did part IIs on Tues and Wed, part I on Thurs and another Part II on Friday.
This weekend had the mock exam on Sat (7) and Sun (2 out of 3 showed, TC!)...most got 4s on part 1!!! must have more MC hw during the course.
Highest part I was 74/75 and the lowest was 43 with many about 50. There was a 62,65 also.

Thurs/Fri finished titrations and pH scale . Did acid/basic salts with B and D...finish that with E on Monday.
Then start REDOX and end that by next monday latest!

Print out SAT II review materials and hand out to students by Wednesday.

finished organic naming with honors today. have to straighen out naming of ethers and amines! didn't do cycloalkanes in class. they found esters relatively easy.

AP: finally finished nuke without doing any problems but we had to get to the first AP part II. Got through q4 (but made an ERROR on the last one with the lead II carbonate with sulfuric acid....PbSO4 solid will form, NOT aqueous Pb 2+.

12 days later

got back and started in with orgo examples in honors:
alkanes, enes, ynes, general, structural and condensed formulas.

got up to alcohols and aldehydes in all but D period.
must do benzenes et al tomorrow and then write the naming test for Wed.
Heavily WS based!

AP- tried to do nuke in a day but got sidetracked by electro. Finishing kinetics of nuke tomorrow and then getting right into exam #1.

misnumbered electro test 1,2,4,5,6 so correct that file for next time
also, have wrong Table letter on Honors Keq dG test....should be table G instead of I

electro tests are okay mostly but the errors are ridiculous:
NOT LABELLING SPECIFIC SUBSTANCES IN HESS'S LAW
putting answers in the denominator of units!
not doing SRFC to ICE on precipitation problems
and NOT KNOWING WHICH SALTS ARE AFFECTED by pH....SULFATES form HSO4- !

upon return: review amphoteric and lewis acids! table L
and indicator colors....

TABLES!

Skipped out of Ksp without getting into Table M! or relate K to solubility curves or table E! Get on that and get into Table L with all classes regarding acids and bases.

started acid base characteristics today....have to get into table L for strength of acids

when describing indicators, should have mention just one color per acid or base, not the change in color...correct that manana

tomorrow is last day before electro test (mon)...finish nernst and just do electrolysis eqs....leave fuel cells for after the test....

catching up:
friday was jr ring day so that was a waste...did Ksp problems with sophs...
monday did more ksp and common ion and tuesday started delta G and delta S

AP: started electro on friday, did cells on monday and did notation today and just got to work = -nFE...

have to explain what mole of reaction means again and again esp. in terms of n in the nFE equation: moles of electrons exchanged per mole of reaction (integer balanced)...

must look up some fuel cell examples etc...
do more blb problems over the next three days...thursday will be the retribution review for the last thermo test....nobody wrote out the hess formulas and just plugged in...everyone is lost on salt solubility and buffers...
